Good morning/afternoon all. We are about to head over to the hospital (can't get up to the room until 10 a.m.), but we've already talked with dad this morning. He's had a good night and we're hopeful for continued progress today. I have a few prayer requests I'd like to mention for today:
1. Pray for wisdom of the doctors. We REALLY NEED the neurologist to read the MRI and talk with us about the results. This is a critical step in the entire process of care and we need to keep it moving. Pray that the doctor will take this action and that God will grant him wisdom when reviewing it for an accurate interpretation of the situation.
2. Pray for strength for our family. I know I keep mentioning this one, but we really need as much strength as possible. Please ask God to stand right beside us and let us feel His presence.
3. Continue to pray for dad's complete and total healing. As I've said before, we know that God can do awesome things and this one is nowhere near outside of His grasp. Pray that dad will completely recover from this situation.
Thank you for your continued support. I just printed off the latest round of comments and we will read those to dad today. Also, in case you were wondering, I would love to post more updates as they happen, but the hospital doesn't have a wifi connection, so I can only post an update when I get back to the hotel. I'll try to keep everyone updated as quickly as possible throughout the day. Also, please feel free to pass along this link to others in case they aren't aware of it. Thank you for your support and we love all of you!

Dear Parks Family, I am praying for Norman's complete healing. I am praying that all of you will feel God's presence while you are so far away from family and friends. I am praying you can all come home soon. I am praying the doctos will communicate with each other and with you to decide the best course of action Norman needs for travel home and treatment. We are already seeing God at work in this situation and I know he is holding each of you in his loving arms. Please give Norman a hug for me and let him know when I think of him I can only think of good things. He is always so upbeat and does so much for our church and community. I know God is watching over him. With lots of love, Rhonda
ReplyDeleteNorman,
ReplyDeleteNot sure if you remember me or not (it's been awhile since we've seen each other), but I'm Kenneth & Brenda Archer's oldest daughter Wendy from VA. Ann and my parents have been keeping me updated on your progress.
Just wanted you to know you and your family are in my prayers. Take care and get well soon. Safe travels back to NC when the doctors in CA give you the go ahead to return home.
If there is anything I can do, please don't hesitate to let me know.
Love,
Wendy Archer Pierce
I've been reading through the posts and am amazed at this progress and happy for him and the family. As some know at Civitan, I am an ICU nurse at Rex and a trauma/surgical nurse at UNC-CH. I know Dr. O's work and realize what a great group you are working with and hope you get home to soon. Hold tight to your convictions as your determination, strength and fortitude are what will bring your father home. God will give you grace to complete this mission. I have seen miracles no one can explain. I saw that you have held steady in mandating that results and information be given in a timely manner. Hold to this. This is key to his recovery along with rest and sleep. I have always and continue to pray for Norman's recovery, return home, and your family's strength throughout. How good God is.
ReplyDeleteNorman - my thoughts are with you and your family. I hope you all return safely and that you will be well soon.

Hi Jon and family,
ReplyDeleteWe know how frustrating it can be to get those doctors "moving" and coordinated. Hospital time is not always on our time. Keep your positive thoughts and know that we are continuing to pray for all your special request and more. You have so many people pulling for you!
Love you all,
Ron and Donna
What wonderful news!!!
ReplyDeleteGod is good! Home must sound so good to all of you. We continue to pray.
Dorothy
