All,
I spoke with my mom earlier today and she said that dad completed his final round of radiation without any difficulty. In fact, she said, he was actually quite emotional afterwards and when she asked him if he was OK, he said that he "couldn't believe that he'd made it to the end of the radiation treatments." Needless to say, the physical, mental and emotional toll this has taken on him (and all of us) is great. So, please pray for a sense of calm and peace as he's reached the latest point on this journey.
I do know that he will have a few appointments coming up by way of follow-up with Dr. O, an appointment with an ENT specialist for the hearing issue and he will begin physical therapy again on Monday of next week. I'll post more as I know it.
Please be sure to lift up to God a prayer of thanksgiving that dad has made it through this stage!

We rejoice in the completion of the radiation, and pray with you that the side-affects will go away. This journey has been long and difficult for all of you, and we pray for a time of rest and peace and recovery. I am very grateful for this blog, which helps us know how to pray for you all.

Thank you for the updates! You are certainly ALL in our prayers.
ReplyDeleteJon,
ReplyDeleteI am thankful that your Dad has completed this round of radiation and chemo. It is difficult for me to say all that is in my heart. Just please tell your Mom and Dad that I love them and I will continue to pray for all of you as I pray for complete healing for your Dad.

I was asked to look at this blog by my brother, who is a colleague of Norman's. Obviously he is burdened my Norm's condition and has asked that I pray for him. My brothet is not a believer, but this blog has made quite an impact. Jon, keep up the remarkably faithful testimony that your family has. The wide-spread results cannot be measured here on earth. I am praying for your continued comfort and that your father would be a witness of God's AMAZING grace.
ReplyDeleteMy mother in law just finished a long difficult battle with ovarian cancer, and she has a clean bill of health for now...Praise the Lord! But we know not what tomorrow brings, and we must endure the tests of today. Stay strong and continue to commune with Christ for that strength.
